Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"
Are you hungry for more of God's favor in your life today? Did you know your faith opens the door to His favor? The scripture tells us that faith pleases God. It gives substance to the things we hope for and makes them tangible. We've all been given a measure of faith, but it's up to each of us to put it into action. Notice today's verse starts by saying, "Now faith." It's not "later" faith or "one day" faith. We have to have faith for today, right now.
Psalm 56:8 "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each"
Do you know how important you are to God? He cares so much about every detail of your life. He cares about your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In fact, what you are going through is so important to Him that He records every sorrow and collects every tear you've shed. Why would God record your sorrows and collect your tears? Because He loves you so much, and He is your Vindicator. He's keeping account of every wrong that's ever been done to you so that He can make up for every single one of them. He wants to restore everything that has ever been stolen. He wants to heal every single hurt and pain. He sees the longings and desires of your heart, and you can rest knowing that He is working things out for your good!
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God"
In this day and age, our culture has gotten used to having constant activity going on: computers, cell phones, television, email, video games. There's nothing wrong with any of that stuff, but the Bible tells us that we need to stop and be still so we can focus on knowing God. Remember, our battles are spiritual battles. The people in your life aren't the source of your problems, the forces of darkness are. When you choose to be still and know that the Greater One lives on the inside of you, you are putting yourself in a position of strength. So today, take time to be still before Him. Let His peace cover you. Let Him refresh you by His Spirit. Remember, the battles you face belong to the Lord
Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarries, wait for it"
God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams, and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you've tried and failed doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Don't give up on those dreams! Don't be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it's been, no matter how impossible things look, if you'll stay in faith, your set time is coming.
Ephesians 2:4-7 "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us…raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus"
Where you are today is not where you are supposed to stay. He has greater levels of His favor and blessing in store for your future. Dare to dream big! Dare to keep a God-sized vision in front of you! Dare to take hold of every spiritual blessing He has in store for you!
Philippians 4:11 "…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances"
It's easy in life to get so focused on our dreams, goals, and what we want that it consumes us. We can get to the point where we're not going to be happy until it happens. But I've found that if we have to have something in order to be happy, our lives are out of balance. When our goals and dreams start to frustrate us, when we lose our peace, and we're not enjoying life; that's a sure sign that we're holding on too tightly. What's the solution? You've got to release it. Freedom comes when you say, "God, I'm turning it all over to You. You know my desires, and You know what's best for me. I'm choosing to trust You and trust Your timing."
Deuteronomy 28:1-2,"If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you...all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you…"
Your Heavenly Father wants to do things that make your life easier and lets you know how much He loves you. The word "overtake" can also be translated "to catch by surprise." Your Heavenly Father longs to be good to you—He wants to catch you by surprise! He wants to help you accomplish your dreams and overcome your obstacles. He wants to amaze you with His goodness and mercy. We should wake up every morning with the attitude, "I can't wait to see what God is going to do today."
Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you…"
Did you know that God was thinking about you before you were ever born? He knew everything about you before you were in your mother's womb. He created you on purpose, for a purpose. He carefully planned who you would be, the color of your hair, the color your eyes and skin. He gave you gifts, talents, and abilities to be used for His glory. He took one look at you and said, "Approved." No matter how you may be feeling right now, no matter who's approval you didn't get on this earth, know that Almighty God loves you and approves of you today. There's nothing you can do now or ever to change that.
Matthew 21:22 "And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and believing, you will receive"
In the natural realm, we exchange money for the things we want and need. But in the spiritual realm, faith is what we exchange. The Bible tells us that when we pray, if we have faith, we will receive what we pray for. Faith is heaven's currency. Faith moves mountains. Faith opens supernatural doors. Faith pleases God. What is faith? It is simply believing God and His Word. It's believing in His goodness and knowing that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek after Him. Faith is believing that the promises of God are true. It's obeying His Word. Where does faith come from? Everyone is given a measure of faith. Romans tell us that faith grows by hearing the Word of God. The more you hear the Word of God, the more real it becomes in your life and the easier it is to believe His promises.
