James 1:2-4 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything"
Jesus never promised us a walk in the park, if anything he told us we will face challenges and persecution, if we follow him. So rejoice in the fact troubles are coming your way as you serve God, it means God is using you, the enemy’s trying to take you out but through it all you’ll come out stronger.
1Cor 2:4 - “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power”
If anyone had the ability to explain the Gospel, it was the Apostle Paul. Instead, he chose to be completely dependent on the Holy Spirit by preaching the simple message of the Cross. Jesus didn’t command us to debate the gospel…He just said to preach it…the Holy Spirit will do the rest. Make yourself available to Him and let Him live big on the inside of you!
Jer 29:11 - “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”
Isn’t it a wonderful thing to stop and think about? The God of the universe, our Heavenly Father, has your entire life in His hands. Make a decision to stop trying to live life on your own. Give Him everything and allow Him to take over. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"
Are you hungry for more of God's favor in your life today? Did you know your faith opens the door to His favor? The scripture tells us that faith pleases God. It gives substance to the things we hope for and makes them tangible. We've all been given a measure of faith, but it's up to each of us to put it into action. Notice today's verse starts by saying, "Now faith." It's not "later" faith or "one day" faith. We have to have faith for today, right now.
Psalm 56:8 "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each"
Do you know how important you are to God? He cares so much about every detail of your life. He cares about your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In fact, what you are going through is so important to Him that He records every sorrow and collects every tear you've shed. Why would God record your sorrows and collect your tears? Because He loves you so much, and He is your Vindicator. He's keeping account of every wrong that's ever been done to you so that He can make up for every single one of them. He wants to restore everything that has ever been stolen. He wants to heal every single hurt and pain. He sees the longings and desires of your heart, and you can rest knowing that He is working things out for your good!
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God"
In this day and age, our culture has gotten used to having constant activity going on: computers, cell phones, television, email, video games. There's nothing wrong with any of that stuff, but the Bible tells us that we need to stop and be still so we can focus on knowing God. Remember, our battles are spiritual battles. The people in your life aren't the source of your problems, the forces of darkness are. When you choose to be still and know that the Greater One lives on the inside of you, you are putting yourself in a position of strength. So today, take time to be still before Him. Let His peace cover you. Let Him refresh you by His Spirit. Remember, the battles you face belong to the Lord
Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarries, wait for it"
God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams, and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you've tried and failed doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Don't give up on those dreams! Don't be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it's been, no matter how impossible things look, if you'll stay in faith, your set time is coming.
Ephesians 2:4-7 "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us…raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus"
Where you are today is not where you are supposed to stay. He has greater levels of His favor and blessing in store for your future. Dare to dream big! Dare to keep a God-sized vision in front of you! Dare to take hold of every spiritual blessing He has in store for you!
Philippians 4:11 "…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances"
It's easy in life to get so focused on our dreams, goals, and what we want that it consumes us. We can get to the point where we're not going to be happy until it happens. But I've found that if we have to have something in order to be happy, our lives are out of balance. When our goals and dreams start to frustrate us, when we lose our peace, and we're not enjoying life; that's a sure sign that we're holding on too tightly. What's the solution? You've got to release it. Freedom comes when you say, "God, I'm turning it all over to You. You know my desires, and You know what's best for me. I'm choosing to trust You and trust Your timing."
