Matthew 2:10-11 “When they saw the star, they were thrilled with ecstatic joy.11 And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts—gold and frankincense and myrrh.”
Are you missing ecstatic Joy in your life? Sometimes we have a tendency to focus on all the “negatives” in our life but we have so much to be thankful for. The most important thing we have to be thankful for is the fact that we also found our Saviour! This in itself is enough to be thrilled with ecstatic joy. When you find your saviour you cannot help yourself but to thank him, worship Him, and bring Him your treasure. Think about what Jesus has done for you today and be thrilled with ecstatic joy.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
God knows your end from your beginning. Sometimes we go through life with our head down because we believe we disappointed God. God is not disappointed in you! You see he knows all your short comings, your weaknesses, and your mistakes. We are not perfect and He knows it. He believes in us more than what we believe in ourselves. He sees us as the finished work not as the process and He knows that He can change us if we allow Him and we stay close to Him.
Numbers 12:7-8 "But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust.I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the Lord as he is……."
What an awesome relationship Moses had with our Lord… God spoke to him face to face! Can you imagine this kind of interaction! Face to face with the creator of heaven and earth….. I believe we also can have this kind of relationship with Him. As you embark in a relentless pursuit of God, He will not be able to resist your passion for Him. More and more He will reveal His heart, His desire, His love, His passion, His ways…HIMSELF. He is waiting on you today!
Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].."
From the beginning God had a purpose for His children. The Word says "created in Christ Jesus" which is referring to a person that has received the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Now let's think about the good works that God has predestined for us. That word “good” from the Greek is “Agatho” which means of good constitution or nature, useful, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, excellent, distinguished, upright and honourable. I’d like to think of these good works that God prepared for me beforehand
Deuteronomy 7:6 "For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure."
Do you realize how special you are? You are His holy people, His special treasure! How awesome is that? Of all the people in the world, God chose YOU! From the foundation of the earth you were on His mind. He designed you just the way you are with a specific purpose. You are an original. There is only one YOU! Don’t you forget that!
1Peter 3:9 "Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it."
When you are in the middle of being falsely accused, when someone has deeply hurt you or let you down, the easier it is to retaliate than to do what Jesus did. The Word says to bless them. Pay them back with a blessing! Yes, it sounds unfare, but always remember how Jesus forgave you when you didn’t deserve it. If we take the “high road” by blessing others when they don’t deserve it, we will walk free from the bondage of offence.
Matt 5:8 "Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous—possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God’s favour and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!"
The heart reflects to the world who we are--the inner character we display outwardly. Our heart sets the course of every day of our lives and it portraits who we really are. We have to guard and protect our heart with all diligence because the issues of life will flow through it not just for us but for the world around us
1Sam 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
It's what's inside that counts. God chooses substance over style, and He wants us to do the same. While the world looks at the outside appearance, He's concerned with the inside: who we are becoming. He wants us to have substance in ourselves, to be able to see the substance in others, and to value it above outward appearances. After all, styles and looks change. Substance will stand the test of life and will last forever!
Proverbs 4:18 "But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared]."
Here we have a promise that says that as we walk uncompromisingly and we commit to the Lord, our life will be brighter and c learer every day. One of the ways that we can stay on this path is by continuing in God’s Word. The key word is “continuing” which is a daily process. We’ve got to love the Word, study the Word, and listen to the Word so it can transform us and direct us. He is not done with us yet. You have a bright future!
Psalm 139:1-5 "1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. 5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head"
There is nothing that your Heavenly Father doesn’t know about you. He deeply cares for you with an everlasting love. He knows you pain, your worries, your insecurities. He knows exactly where you are at in life. Every single step, He is there! In every single moment He is with you! Practise His presence…. In the middle of your day stop and thank Him…talk to Him. He is waiting for you!
